Inter legend and former club captain Giuseppe “Beppe” Bergomi talked to Sky Sports in order to give his views and opinions on last night’s 2-1 win against Fiorentina.

In the interview the former Italian international praised Inter for the character they showed in managing to retain the lead.

“If you look at how Fiorentina managed their positions on the pitch as well as the game itself during the second half, it is clear that they deserved better than a loss. However they had to face an Inter that is currently in a phase of growth. Inter, who was under a lot of pressure in the second half, knew that they had to take advantage of a distraction of the opponents defence in order to score the winning goal which came thanks to fullback Danilo D’Ambrosio. Then Inter managed to defend their lead during the final minutes of the game by showing character.”
