The data proves it. Inter are now no longer so reliant on the deadly duo of Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic according to a report from Sky Sport.
Icardi and Perisic accounted for some 60% of Inter’s goals across last season however at this early stage of the campaign they have contributed to just a 40% of Inter’s goals across all competitions instead with both players having two goals to their names currently.
Part of the reasoning behind Inter being less reliant is the fact more players are scoring. Antonio Candreva, Radja Nainggolan, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Marcelo Brozovic, Matias Vecino and Stefan de Vrij have all scored this campaign and it can not be forgotten that the likes of Lautaro Martinez, Keita Balde and Matteo Politano are all also still looking to score their first goals. Had it not been for VAR’s intervention in the match against Sampdoria, Kwadwo Asamoah’s too would have had his first goal this season.
