Miranda spoke on a possible return to his native Brazil in the future in an interview with Brazilian news outlet Esporte Interativo.

“Sao Paulo will always be the first choice if I decide to come back. I sometimes still follow the Brazilian league. I am very happy to see that Sao Paulo is fighting for the title because I have many friends there at the club. I hope they can win because they are working hard and I hope that they can continue to shine in this final part of the season.”

The veteran central defender played for the Estadio do Morumbi outfit between 2006 and 2011 and made just shy of 150 appearances before joining Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.

Rumours about a return to his homeland have been persistent for months with him nearing the twilight years of his career and despite having under a year on his current deal with Inter, he is expected to sign a new deal soon.
