Fiorentina striker Giovanni Simeone spoke on current Inter striker and compatriot Mauro Icardi in an interview with Italian brodcaster DAZN.
“They say that when he is not scoring that he is not help out his teammates and while maybe that is true, if you get the ball to him he will put it in the net, so he is always on the defender’s mind.”
Simeone then spoke on former Inter striker Diego Milito and revealed he studied him when growing up.
“I have watched videos of him playing for Inter and I have studied his movements, even just the small ones. He did not touch the ball so often but he was always in the right place at the right time when he was needed. People say being a goalscorer is all about luck but it is not like that.”
The 23-year-old then spoke on the pressure he first felt due to his famous father, former Inter midfielder and current Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone.
“At the beginning my surname weighed on me, but it is different now.”
