Borja Valero will replace the injured Marcelo Brozovic for Inter this evening when the Nerazzurri play SPAL, according to Tuttosport.
Inter announced via their Twitter profile yesterday that Brozovic would be unavailable for the trip to Ferrara due to a “slight muscular issue”, forcing Luciano Spalletti to review his options in midfield for the final match before the October international break.
Borja Valero has not started a match yet this season but has become a useful substitute late in games, and is likely to start alongside former Fiorentina team-mate Matias Vecino.
Spalletti is also expected to ring the changes on the right-hand side of the team, with Sime Vrsaljko due for his second start of the campaign and Keita Balde tipped to replace Antonio Candreva on the wing.
Inter’s probable starting XI for tonight’s match is as follows:
Inter (4-2-3-1): Handanovic; Vrsaljko, Skriniar, Miranda, Asamoah; Vecino, Borja Valero; Keita, Nainggolan, Perisic; Icardi.
