Inter owned Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa has admitted that his future with loan club Santos is not up to himself.
“There are nine games left, I still have a lot of things to do here. It does not depend on me as to whether I stay, I have a contract with a foreign club in Inter and I just have to stay calm, someone will solve the problem,” the 22-year-old striker explained after Santos’ 1-0 win over Corinthians in which he scored the only goal of the game.
The Brazilian moved to Inter in 2016 but found life in Europe very difficult and seemingly struggled to adapt. He was loaned back to Santos, where Inter signed him from, in the January transfer window until December 31. Since returning to the Peixe, he has rekindled the form that lead the Nerazzurri to buying him for around €30 million as he has netted 14 goals in 28 league outings.
