Antonio Candreva: “Proud Of What I Have Done At Inter”

This week, Antonio Candreva was the guest on ‘Inter Player One’ – the new weekly show on the club’s channel Inter TV.

The former Lazio winger who began the interview talking about the emotions he felt after the goal of Matias Vecino which brought the club back to the Champions League: “My first thought was, ‘we did it!’ This was what we wanted after years of suffering at Inter. Qualification for us was like liberation from these dark times. We had achieved a goal we all set together.”

Which players in the team are your closest friends?

“I get along well with many players in the team. Mauro, D’Ambro, Gaglia, Vecino…although it is reductive for me to only list those three or four. I think everyone can see that we are all well together. This is an excellent group.”

What is Inter to you?

“A great thing. When I began my career I wanted to play for a top club, and now I can say I have done it. I am proud and honored by what I have achieved in the Nerazzurri shirt.”

What do the fans not know about you?

“Perhaps on the field I look like I take things too seriously, but this is the opposite of my true self.”
