Former Inter owner and president Massimo Moratti has spoken on what Lionel Messi missing the Champions League clash with Inter means for the game.
“The absence of Lionel Messi balance the meeting between the two sides. It will be a tough game but we will up our game with it being against Barcelona,” he said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport on the sidelines of the Univero event.
Moratti proceeded to discuss whether Inter can win any silverware this campaign.
“It is difficult to think that the Scudetto can be won. You never know, but for now it is difficult. Meanwhile, we must try to keep doing good things and advance in the Champions League and must not underestimate the Coppa Italia either.”
Moratti then spoke on his favourite coaches at Inter from his time at the helm of the club.
“Jose Mourinho was the coach that I always wanted for Inter. I changed so many managers because when you are in a position like ours and you lose three games you have to find certain solutions. All the managers we had in my time are great people and I have great memories of them.
He concluded the interview by speaking on some of his favourite foreign signings.
“Javier Zanetti is the first but Paul Ince also comes close.”
