Following his press conference earlier today, Luciano Spalletti spoke with broadcaster Sky Sport ahead of the game with Lazio and firstly discussed Steven Zhang becoming club president and the Zhang family in general.

“Everyone should like Steven as president. I know Steven and I have been lucky enough to have had the chance to meet his father too. They have a lot of passion for what they want to build at Inter. They are a guarantee for both me and all those at Inter.”

He proceeded to discuss the team’s desire to bounce back after suffering defeat to Barcelona.

“Defeats create the opportunity for us to grow and work. In this case we were not passive, but we went to analyse the things that did not go well and the team showed their response in training yesterday.”

Spalletti concluded the interview by speaking on the potential striking partnership of Mauro Icardi and Lautaro Martinez.

“We have so many strong players and we want them to play together. It is always a matter of balance and putting them in when they have the possibility of expressing themselves best. It can happen and it will surely happen [that they play together]. It does all depend on the moment we are going through though, the context and the game itself.”
