The weather warnings remain in place ahead of tonight’s clash at the Stadio Olimpico between Lazio and Inter but the hosts are doing everything in their power to ensure the game is not postponed.
CONI, who manage the stadium, put down the weather covers on the pitch yesterday and intend to keep them down until the teams walk out on to the pitch to begin their warm-ups in a bid to best preserve the pitch that would otherwise be heavily waterlogged.
Both clubs can take a sigh of relief from the fact that the Stadio Olimpico has one of the most advanced drainage systems that will no doubt play a big part in the game going ahead.
