With his brace yesterday in Inter’s 3-0 victory over Lazio, Inter star Mauro Icardi has now reached 116 Serie A goals, 106 of which have arrived while in an Inter jersey, a report from Gazzetta dello Sport details as they dive in to his numbers and discuss the ongoing contract talks.
During 2018, Icardi is second only behind Borussia Monchengladbach’s Alassane Plea across the top five European leagues when it comes to scoring goals away from home with him scoring 12 to Plea’s 14.
The night at the Olimpico yesterday sent a bunch of positive signals but now the fans expect that the off-field game between Icardi’s entourage and Inter management over a new contract will speed up. There is a well-established discussion but an agreement is yet to be reached. Inter and Icardi both want to stay together and Icardi now has his eyes set on winning something having already achieved his goal of playing in the Champions League with the club.
