Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa was quizzed on his Santos future at a press conference with just two months left to run on his loan deal with the Brazilian club.

“There is a chance that I will stay at Santos, of course. As far as I know, the President would like to keep me. There is still a lot of time until January, so we have to focus on the games we have left and then we will talk about it again then,” he said.

“I am very happy, but I also have the dream of playing in Europe. It does not depend on just me, there is also Santos and Inter. It is best that we wait until the last few games are played to resolve the situation.”

His return to his boyhood club has proved beneficial to him in terms of rekindling past form as evidenced by his 16 goals in 30 league appearances to date.
