Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic has downplayed the idea that he and his teammates are all but guaranteed to win the Scudetto for an eighth straight season in an interview with broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.
“The Scudetto takes a whole year of work to win it. People think it must be very easy and immediately say ‘Obviously Juve will win it,’ but people must know it’s not easy. It takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice to achieve that.”
The Bosnian midfield maestro then spoke on the Bianconeri’s two biggest challengers, Napoli and Inter.
“Napoli are strong and need to be respected. I know Inter’s Coach Luciano Spalletti well, he is very smart. Inter had a few problems at the start, but are now doing very well and we saw it in the victory against Lazio.
“I expect these two sides to be up there with us to the end. It’s a long campaign, we are only at the beginning and it’ll be a great battle. We hope to win, but nothing is to be taken for granted with those two behind us.”
