Roberto Gagliardini talked to Inter TV following Inter’s resounding 5-0 win over Genoa in which he scored a brace.

“Of course I am very happy with how me and the team played. It is very nice to have continued on this path after the match against Lazio. Since I was almost there having scored two goals, I tried to snatch the game ball after the final whistle, but I failed [laughs].

“The result today was rewarding and it was important to give us continuity. On Tuesday we have a most difficult game and winning today gives us confidence, so the group remains strong. We train well and remain on a high level and this is fundamental in order for the results to come.”

The Italian was then asked if he thinks he’s improved since this time last year and had a message for the fans too.

“I think so. This is Spalletti’s second year and a lot of strong players have a arrived so the level of performance has increased and each player has grown. That is something we are starting to show.”

“We thank them and will try to repay them for their confidence.”

He concluded by dedicating his brace to a whole host of people.

“I want to dedicated it to all the people that have been close to me during a tough period. My family, my girlfriend, my dog and my newborn puppy.”
