Respected Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti has looked at the differences between the Inter of today and the Inter of this time last year as part of his weekly column for newspaper Corriere della Sera following Inter’s start to the season that sees them sit in second place, six points off of leaders Juventus.
“A year ago, Inter had four points more and were in front of Juventus and remained there until the seventeenth game but Inter has found continuity today. Marcelo Brozovic has grown, Matias Vecino has also matured, but the whole team has been balanced this season. The results are clear to see. A year ago only Mauro Icardi scored the goals, he scored 11 goals out of the 20 they had. Today Icardi remains the top goalscorer but with just 6 goals out of 21 instead.”
From 11 league games, Inter have yielded 26 points, winning eight, drawing one and losing two games and currently find themselves on a seven game win streak in the league.
