An excerpt of Triplete hero Diego Milito’s interview from tonight’s match day programme has been released and it sees the former Argentine striker recall the semi-final with Barcelona on the road to winning the Champions League back in the 2009/10 season.
“It is a beautiful memory for me. It was an epic semifinal, something of dreams. We were close to the finish line and we met a very strong team. That game at San Siro was extraordinary. We had a huge dream and as a collective we all made ourselves available for each other to make it happen. Those memories are very sweet.
“José Mourinho made us train to the maximum in that week, stimulated us and we felt electricity all over the place. Us players did not talk about anything else, its just the way it was as we were about to face one of the strongest teams on the planet.”
He concluded by speaking on Champions League nights at the San Siro.
“Inter in the Champions League at San Siro is something unique, extraordinary in fact, and playing there will remain with me forever.”
