Respected Italian football journalist Mario Sconcerti has backed the actions of Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho following his side’s 2-1 win over Juventus last night.

The former Inter boss was subject to intense abuse from the Juventus fans in Turin last night and upon the full-time whistle, he entered the field and cupped one hear, something that angered several Juventus players who were quick to come up to him.

“I agree with what he did by putting his hand behind his ear. This is part of football, you insult him and he will retaliate, it is part of the game,” Sconcerti remarked in an interview with RMC Sport.

When speaking to the press after the match at the Allianz Stadium, that saw the Red Devils score two late goals to win the game, Mourinho confirmed that abuse was directly at him, toward his family and his Interisti family throughout the duration of the game.
