Eduardo Salvio’s agent is to hold talks with Benfica over a new contract for his client according to a report form Portuguese news outlet O Jogo.
Salvio’s current deal with the Lisbon based club is due to expire at the end of the current season and having scored four and tallied five assists in 15 games played thus far this season they are eager to extend his stay at the Estadio Da Luz.
As per the report, Salvio is looking for a wage increase to €3 million per season but the club’s president Luis Filipe Vieira at this very moment is not so keen on giving him such a salary.
The same source recently revealed that Italian quartet Inter, Napoli, Lazio and Roma were all keen on signing him due to his expiring contract status and it now remains to be seen as to whether they will be put off if a new contract ends up being signed.
