Former Inter owner and president Massimo Moratti has spoken on Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta’s imminent arrival at the club.

“I think he can be very useful for the club. I had spoken to the president about him and I talked about Marotta well but Steven Zhang already had everything in mind,” Moratti said in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport.

“He is a professional and his work in Turin with Juventus will be useful because they won so much when he was there. I hope that he can change the club and can get them the results that Inter deserve.”

Moratti was then asked which players currently excite him and which players he would sign if still in charge.

“There are many good young Italians. Federico Chiesa? Yes he is one of them but there are others.”

Moratti concluded the interview speaking on Inter’s difficult fixture run that awaits them after the international break.

“I think they can do well in this run of games and get good results but every game is difficult.”
