Chelsea are the latest club to join the race to sign Inter centre back Milan Skriniar according to British tabloid The Sun.

Blues manager Maurizio Sarri is in the process of writing up a shortlist of reinforcements and it is understood that the Slovakian defender is one of the names on the list.

Sarri is not completely happy with the current make-up of his defence that features several elder statesmen such as David Luiz and Gary Cahill is completely aware that if he wants to challenge Manchester City at the top of the league then he will have to improve his squad in the transfer window.

Chelsea have joined Premier League rivals Manchester United in courting Skriniar, who is valued by Inter at €70 million as per the report.

Chelsea will have another chance to watch him in the flesh next Wednesday when Inter travel to London to take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League.
