Luciano Spalletti could opt to give Ivan Perisic a rest for this weekend’s league match at home to Frosinone to allow him to rest up ahead of Inter’s most difficult period this season according to a report from Tuttosport.

Having played 180/180 minutes over the international break, he returned to Inter training two days ago and took part in various recovery sessions and finished up training quicker than the rest of his Nerazzurri teammates.

To date the powerful Croatian winger has made a total of 16 appearances across all competitions this season and Saturday’s match could be the perfect opportunity to rest him with Frosinone being one of the lesser teams in the division where Inter can perhaps allow for some rotation in the team yet still be considered vastly superior.

The former Wolfsburg man has failed to replicate previous season’s form managing just two goals and two assists thus far and resting him could allow him to get back to 100% for the games with Tottenham Hotspur, Roma and Juventus.
