Inter’s Loss To Tottenham Was Undeserved

With Inter’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last night, the Nerazzurri lost complete control of their Champions League destiny heading in to the final group stage game.

Gazzetta dello Sport however believe that the Nerazzurri’s defeat was undeserved. Central defence pairing Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij done well to nullify the huge threat that was Harry Kane and stopped him from scoring. Marcelo Brozovic meanwhile managed to manage possession and launch counter-attacks despite not having Radja Nainggolan – who ultimately should not have been played in such conditions – by his side for the duration of the game. Borja Valero, who replaced Nainggolan, was Inter’s best player on the park at Wembley.

Inter certainly tried to win the game and were not short of chances but they would ultimately concede to Spurs playmaker Christian Eriksen on the 80th minute.

Having lost, Inter must better Spurs result and hope that they are unable to get a victory away to Barcelona as Inter then have no chance of qualifying.
