Lautaro Martinez’s father Mario Martinez appeared to take a swipe at Inter manager Luciano Spalletti last night on social media.
Spalletti opted to substitute Keita Balde on rather than his son and Martinez sr. tweeted, “Keep going like this and your luck will run out!”
The tweet was soon deleted and while there was no direct reference to the Inter boss, it seems far more likely than not that it was him that it was directed toward.
The striker joined Inter for around €20 million in the summer to much fanfare from Racing Club in his native Argentina but has not played as much as perhaps both he and fans alike expected him to. Lautaro has been limited to just eight appearances – four of which as a starter – since his arrival for a total of 371 minutes. The 21-year-old starlet, who is a full Argentine international, has scored twice and tallied one assist in the process.
