As part of an interview with ESPN, Inter defender Joao Miranda has spoken on Inter teammate and compatriot Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa and shared his hopes to see him get a chance at the club.
“Gabi has already proven his quality. He is doing well in Brazil and I hope he can come back to Inter with the right awareness so that he has the opportunity to confirm his skills here,” he said.
Gabigol joined Inter in the summer of 2016 to much fanfare but saw limited game time in his debut season which lead to a loan to Benfica to kick-start his second season. That loan was however cut short and he was then loaned to former club Santos back in his homeland where he is still on loan until the end of December.
The Brazilian striker has managed to find the form that lead Inter to forking out €30 million for him but it remains to be seen if such form will be enough to see him given a second chance at the Nerazzurri.
