Joao Mario believes that Inter could well have left Roma with all three points rather than just the point that they had to settle for.

“Tonight I played mezzala as I often do.. I think that we were closer to get the win than they were, too bad we did not get the three points,” he said in an interview with Inter TV post-match at the Stadio Olimpico.

“Tonight we always tried to go for the win, as we always do. On Friday we have another tough game, but if you ask me we can bring home the three points from that Juventus game. Tonight I tried to do my best, which meant making a lot of runs and a lot of fighting, especially away from San Siro against a hard opponent such as Roma. I repeat: It is a pity that we could not win today, but we will have another go at it on Friday.”
