Flamengo Vice-President Braz: “Deal For Inter’s Gabigol Is Very Complicated”

Marcos Braz, the vice-president of Brazilian giants Flamengo, has commented on the club’s interest in Inter striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa and highlighted the difficulty of getting a deal done.

“Gabgiol is a player under contract. We are waiting on Inter but this is a very complicated negotiation,” he told Fox Sports Brazil.

Flamengo have been one of many clubs reported as interested in signing the 22-year-old striker, whose future prospects with Inter do not like bright. They face competition in particular from West Ham United, who by many accounts, are leading the race to sign him and are in increasingly frequent contract with Nerazzurri bosses.

Inter are hoping to loan him or sell him outright within Europe which further complicates matters for Flamengo and their fellow Brazilian clubs who are also vying for the 2016 Olympic Gold medallist’s signature.

Gabigol has spent the past year on loan in Brazil with Santos where he scored 18 goals in 35 games.
