Allowing Mauro Icardi to leave is quite simply an option Inter are not wishing to consider according to Corriere della Sera who have analysed the contract renewal situation of the captain.
His wife and agent Wanda Nara is asking for €10 million a season while sporting director Piero Ausilio has offered a sum of €6 million. Usually in these situations parties meet halfway, so in all likelihood an agreement can be found at around €8 million.
The release clause has also proved to be a stumbling block in negotiations between the two parties. Inter are wanting to eliminate it completely from the new contract yet Wanda wishes for one to remain in the deal. Currently his release clause sits at €110 million and is only available to foreign clubs for the first fortnight in July. Removing the clause would give Inter the ability to set whatever price they want on the head of the 25-year-old Argentine.
