Luciano Spalletti reflected on Inter’s 1-0 triumph over Napoli in an interview with Inter’s in-house television channel Inter TV.

“Tonight we had a good game. I must say that the team has never been hurt in the last period. Against a strong team like Napoli, we maybe gave something more than they did in terms of effort. In the first half we pressed them with the aim of recovering the high balls they played but in the second half we dropped back to preserve energy.

“We did well tonight even though we did lower our tempo in some moments. Despite the things that I was expecting, after a period that was a bit opaque we came back strong.

He concluded the interview seemingly unfazed by the fact he will have to do without Marcelo Brozovic against Empoli due to him being suspended as a result of picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Napoli.

“We are OK. Joao Mario has improved a lot, Borja Valero is very strong so long as he makes it and then Nainggolan will return too.”
