Lautaro Martinez shared his thoughts following Inter’s 1-0 success over Napoli which arrived with thanks to him scoring a goal in injury time at San Siro.

“It is three important points for us. We have shown that we have character and this victory is very important for us to continue on our journey,” he told a reporter from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport.

The Argentine youngster’s father recently caused controversy by hitting out at Inter boss Luciano Spalletti due to his son’s lack of playing time but the 21-year-old insists that the situation is forgotten about.

“My father was wrong [to do what he did] but we are all human beings and he apologised to Spalletti and everything is now in the past.”

He concluded by revealing his wish to see more action, “I am always hoping to play more to help the team, to play in front of the fans and to always give my best.”
