Tommasi: “Punish Those Responsible For Racism Without Penalizing The Majority Of Fans”

The President of the Players association in Italy, AIC, Damiano Tommasi was interviewed by Radio Crc and was asked about the racism which was seen and heard at the match between Inter and Napoli at San Siro.

Tommasi began by stating that “We immediately condemned what happened inside the San Siro during Inter-Napoli. At the stadium, I know that the announcements were made. That is the minimum, if the Napoli bench has asked more than once for the referee to intervene, the game should have been stopped as has happened in the past. You need to understand how to identify the ones directly responsible, without penalizing the majority of fans. There must be a comparison with other cases to understand the best way to intervene.”

Inter have been punished for the Racist chanting which was aimed at Napoli’s Koulibaly by having a forced closure of the San Siro for their next two games against Benevento and Sassuolo and the Curva Nord closed for the game after that.
