Inter Give Captain Mauro Icardi A €100,000 Fine

It has been quite an eventful day for Inter and club captain Mauro Icardi as the Argentinian international striker returned to training at the club’s training ground at Appiano Gentile.

According to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, the Nerazzurri captain has been given a €100,000 fine for showing up late to training.

The day began with reports that Icardi would be late due to a flight cancellation that he had no control over. However, Inter, like many clubs, utilize a zero tolerance policy to tardiness, something the players and the club all have agreed to, and therefore the fine will be paid in full without Icardi or the club being upset.

However, this fine also follows after his wife and agent Wanda Nara Icardi told TyC Sport that her client/husband will not sign a new contract with Inter before walking back the statement in an interview, claiming that a deal is not close to being made.
