Inter winger Keita Balde is not confident that the last of racist incidents have been seen at Italian football.
“I can’t see racist incidents not being repeated. There will always be ignorant people. Not everyone has the same education. if they don’t learn as children then they won’t learn when they’re 30 or 40.
“Having said that, you shouldn’t punish 100 people for the actions of 10. Everyone is responsible for their own actions,” he remarked in an interview with Sky Sport Italia.
The Senegalese then spoke on his recent upturn in form and Inter’s end to the year.
“Let’s say that 2018 ended well for me. It was important to finish the year well by beating Empoli and we did that.
“Now we have to start this year well so we can keep getting better and exceed expectations. Let’s say that when you start scoring goals, the rest comes itself.
“I’ve already said that I was in no hurry, I know my qualities and patience was needed in waiting for the first goal to go in. Now I hope to keep improving.
“I think the club are working very well in every aspect. They’re growing and they’ll get better with each year that passes. They welcomed me very well and we’re like a big family here.
He concluded the interview by discussing Inter’s potential to win the Europa League and the challenge of competing in three competitions.
“I think we can [win the Europa League. We have a big enough squad to compete on three fronts, so we must be confident.”
