The contract renewal standoff between Inter and Mauro Icardi and his representatives continues and another meeting is to take place next week according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport.

The meeting will be staged next week and while no date has been circled on the calendar as of yet, Sky Sport believe it will take place in the early part of the week between Monday and Wednesday.

Talks have been ongoing for months and there appears to be no end in sight at least in the immediate future as it is understood that there is a large gap between supply and demand.

Icardi and his wife and agent Wanda are believed to be demanding a salary in line with other stars in Serie A like his compatriot Gonzalo Higuain earns but Inter are not so keen to give in to his demands, despite his status as club captain and one of the best strikers on the planet.
