Brescia president and owner Massimo Cellino has confirmed that he has spoken with Roma with regards to coveted midfielder Sandro Tonali.

“I can confirm that Roma have asked me about Tonali. I have talked about him to Roma director Baldissoni several times, but I want to keep him at the club for as long as possible,” he said in an interview with Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport.

Cellino was then asked if he thinks the youngster is ready to make the jump up to a big club and also confirmed another club has been in contact.

“Is he ready? I do not know, he is only 18… but Liverpool also contacted me a little while ago about him.”

Tonali is one of the biggest up-and-coming Italian talents and aside from Roma and Liverpool, he is a player reportedly of interest to Inter among many other sides. The young midfielder is already involved with the senior men’s national team and looks destined for a bright future.
