Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta is very close to joining the Club Italia group according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.
As per the report, Club Italia is due to have a meeting next week which will ratify the various changes at management level and its structure is due to be reformed ahead of Italy beginning their attempt to qualify for EURO 2020 with games with Finland and Lichtenstein coming at the end of March.
FIGC – the Italian football federation – president Gabriele Gravina will be at the helm of Club Italia that will have five to six other members.
The report from the Rome based newspaper goes on to state that Gravina would like players who have been successful in the Azzurri shirt in the past to be involved. 2006 World Cup winner Gianluca Zambrotta and 1982 World Cup winner Marco Tardelli are two such names who could well become involved with Club Italia.
