There is still a gap to be bridged in contract negotiations between Inter and Wanda Icardi over a new deal for Inter captain Mauro Icardi but due to the shared desire to keep Mauro at Inter, an agreement will be found according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
The foundations of the deal have been laid and the gap can be bridged by Inter increasing the bonuses that they have offered the Argentine as part of the new deal.
The parties will also come to an agreement over the situation of the release clause. Icardi currently has a €110 million in his contract – a clause valid only to foreign clubs at the start of every July – and Inter are pushing and pushing to get it taken out entirely to give them more power when clubs come knocking. Wanda has other ideas for the clause though and would instead like to see it increased.
