Sandro Mazzola: “Inter & Torino Two Quality Teams, It Will Be A Good Match”

The match between Torino-Inter is fast approaching, it is scheduled for Sunday 27th January, but it is also a special anniversary for the world of Italian football: one hundred years since the birth of Valentino Mazzola.

Toronews.net interviewed Sandro Mazzola, an icon for Inter and son of the captain of the Il Grande Torino team. “I will probably not leave home that day, I’ll go and take old photo albums and show them to my nephews, telling them something about their great-grandfather”, says the former striker of the ’60s and’ 70s.

Inter or Torino? “I am cheering for both, so when they clash I can say that I do not support either of them. When Torino play well I’m happy, then I think of Inter and I’m sorry, so I wait for the Nerazzurri to give me an equally beautiful moment.”

“I do not care about the result. There is the possibility of a fun and open match because there will be many quality players on the pitch and it is not easy to decipher the two teams. Inter are settling after the change of ownership, Lautaro Martinez is special and you can never predict what will happen next.”
