Italian newspaper, La Repubblica describe the relationship between Spalletti and Marotta as one that that still needs to be “oiled” when talking about the career path that for the past few months has seen Giuseppe Marotta in the role of CEO.
The manager’s statement in the press conference, in which he said, “Certain things must remain inside the changing rooms and inside the camp” according to La Repubblica would be a rather clear message, possibly in regards to Marotta’s public statements about Perisic’s request to be sold.
In the background there is always the real possibility that Spalletti’s adventure on the Nerazzurri bench will come to a close at the end of this season with Antonio Conte at the top of the list of possible successors.
Contacts with the entourage of the former coach of the Italian national team continue, which in Italy they have included Inter as the preferred destination for the opportunity to develop a strong project after too many disappointing seasons.
Furthermore, the feeling between Conte and Marotta is another element that may worry Spalletti.
