A forensic investigator who specialises in traces of blood has been drafted in by the public prosecutor in a bid to find out which vehicles contributed to the death of Inter ultra Daniele Belardinelli according to a report from cronachedellacampania.it.

The 35-year-old Belardinelli was part of clashes between Inter and Napoli ultras prior to the two sides meeting one another at San Siro on Boxing Day.

The violence took place not far from San Siro and Belardinelli died in hospital as a result of injuries sustained during it. Investigators believe that Belardinelli was knocked down by one vehicle while another effectively dealt the blow that would later finish him.

No less than six cars – all of which belonging to Napoli fans – have been seized by authorities and are currently under investigation. Investigators hope that Professor Cristina Cattaneo can shed some light on the matter and identify the vehicles involved by possibly obtaining some biological traces.
