Player Ratings Fiorentina 3 – 3 Inter: Nerazzurri Robbed Of Three Points

What a brilliant game of football for the neutral but for Inter fans though it was heartbreak. Inter were denied by a comical and surely controversial 100th minute penalty awarded by Rosario Abisso that will surely question the application of VAR.

Samir Handanovic – 4.5 : Caught cold on the first goal. Can’t do anything about the other 2 goals. Literally had nothing much to do in between all that. Didn’t organize well

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 6 : Its not a penalty. Simple as that. But overall D’Ambrosio did decently well within his limitations in what was a difficult game in Florence.

Stefan De Vrij – 5.5 : Very unlucky at the start with the own goal. Then the battler started to shine. There were nervy moments throughout but he got through them.

Milan Skriniar – 5.5: Same as his partner. The Fiorentina forwards seized upon Skriniar’s only weakness which is his speed but he managed as well as he could.

Henrique Dalbert – 5 : Partially to blame on the first goal for letting Chiesa in from a long ball so early in the game. Tried to do some attacking work but without success.

Matias Vecino – 5.5 : Great goal at a great time but most of his passes are telegraphed and readable. Which means they are intercepted. His runs were good.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6: Poor first half where we couldn’t get a grip of the game at all. But in the second half he showed why he’s adored. Great performance until the end.

Matteo Politano – 6 : Politano did what it says on the tin. Peach of a goal and he looks rejuvenated and purposeful again. Hopefully the injury is minor.

Radja Nainggolan – 6.5 : Absolutely tired. But the only one who was consistently good in both halves. Held up the ball beautifully, won tackles and duels. Class player.

Ivan Perisic – 6 : The old Perisic is back and how. Kept his head in the first half. Then came out determined to get points. Good penalty with his wrong foot.

Lautaro Martinez – 6: It’s scary how complete Lautaro is as a striker. Not many 21 year old’s can play maturely week in and week out. Absolute steal in for €25 million.

Kwadwo Asamoah – 5: Didn’t notice the difference when he came on for Dalbert. Fiorentina ran riot and he along with his team-mates couldn’t hold out the result.

Antonio Candreva – 5: Some purposeful running with the ball but his job was to defend and sit in front of D’Ambrosio. Nothing of note but played his tactical role well.

Borja Valero – N/A: Time wasting sub but got lucky and played Perisic in. Too bad that move was blocked. Maybe should be playing in a deeper role for some control.

Luciano Spalletti – 5: The start was poor and could shock us into submission but Spalletti has been working on the mentality and it showed. Half time talk made a difference.

Rosario Abisso – 0: Fell too easily for Fiorentina’s dives all night, decent use of VAR before THAT incident. If that is a penalty, Abisso shouldn’t be officiating. That simple.

Inter – 6: Great mental fortitude to come back in the first half. The goals conceded were an own-goal, a stunning free-kick and a non existent penalty. Robbed.

Agree? Disagree? Is Lautaro Martinez the end of Inter’s attacking woes?
