Perisic Has Become A Leader At Inter

Ivan Perisic has appeared to become a/the de facto leader of the Inter team in recent weeks in the eyes of Gazzetta dello Sport.

This comes at an important time for the Croatian who has returned back to his best in recent weeks following a difficult first half of the season.

Throughout Sunday night’s 3-3 draw with Fiorentina, from taking charge and speaking to the referee to going up to speak with Samir Handanovic prior to Fiorentina’s late penalty, Perisic showed glimpses of leadership material about him.

The Milan based newspaper state that this has not just come about because of Mauro Icardi and the recent controversy surrounding him but rather because since the end of the January transfer market, the new Perisic was simply born.

This season, Perisic has made 31 appearances across all competitions for Inter. In just over 2400 minutes on the field, the 30-year-old has scored five goals and tallied seven assists.
