Inter Sporting Director Ausilio Linked With Roma Move

Inter could part company with sporting director Piero Ausilio at the end of the season amid interest from Roma, Corriere dello Sport reported today.

Roma announced the departure of former sporting director Monchi on Friday before appointing Frederic Massara as his replacement on a short-term basis.

The Giallorossi are already studying various candidates for the following season and are thought to be interested in Ausilio, whose contract with Inter expires next summer.

Ausilio is anything but certain to remain with the Nerazzurri and is close to an influential agent working behind the scenes at Roma, placing him in contention to succeed Monchi in the capital.

Roma’s other preferred candidate is Torino sporting director Gianluca Petrachi, but convincing Urbano Cairo to release him could prove extremely difficult.

Parma’s Daniele Faggiano and former Milan man Massimiliano Mirabelli are also in the frame.

Inter will look to boost their chances of finishing above Roma in Serie A this weekend when they take on SPAL at San Siro.
