Having spoken to several media outlets, Roberto Gagliardini then spoke to the remaining journalists in the mixed zone at San Siro following Inter’s 2-0 win over SPAL.

“Today we had difficulty at the beginning because so many of us have had less playing time during the year and it is not easy when you are playing so little but some tactical changes helped us to better express ourselves and above all to win the match,” he said.

“The result is fundamental because it was important to keep up with Milan. Our performance was filled with character.

He continued: “The goal gives me great joy and I hope to be able to make team selection for Spalletti difficult by always training at 100%.

“The support from the fans was never lacking today even when things were difficult. At every game whether home or away we always have a big support behind us.”

He concluded by speaking on Thursday’s Europa League match with Eintracht Frankfurt, one he is ineligible for due to not being on the UEFA list.

“I will prepare for the game on Thursday mentally even though I will not be there physically but I will hopefully be able to help still.”
