Inter Midfielder Gagliardini: “I Knew I Would Score, It Has Been A Tough Season For Me”

In an interview with Sky Sport, Roberto Gagliardini shared his satisfaction at Inter’s 2-0 victory over SPAL in which he scored the Nerazzurri’s second goal.

“On a personal level, this was an important goal, I needed it. I felt it when I scored and yesterday I told the guys at the club to make this jersey for me because I knew I would score,” he explained.

“I think that at the end of the day we are all professional football players and we have to do our job, this year I have had a lot less playing time if you compare to last year, it has been a tough season. I try to work hard every day in order to get the call as often as possible.”

He concluded by dismissing the idea that Mauro Icardi’s absence was behind the difficulties they faced this afternoon.

“There is no connection between him and our initial difficulties. We played the first half with a bit of fatigue, then in the second half, after some tactical rearrangements, we got better. Mauro is a teammate that I am closely linked to but I have nothing else to say.”
