The idea of Mauro Icardi undergoing an operation to correct his knee problem is growing more and more concrete according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

The 26-year-old Argentine has not featured for Inter since the 1-0 win over Parma on February 2 and is officially out with a knee problem although the timing is all rather suspect as he suddenly became unavailable right after he lost the captain’s armband.

Icardi and his wife/agent Wanda Nara were not present at yesterday’s match between Inter and SPAL at San Siro which suggests in the Rome based newspaper’s eyes that there is still some distance between the parties when it comes to solving the ongoing saga.

Inter president Steven Zhang was present at the match and it would have been the perfect opportunity for Icardi and Zhang to cross with many reports stating that he longs for a meeting with Zhang.

Zhang was seen as fundamental to the unblocking of the situation and the report concludes that the Icardi’s no longer deem him as decisive.
