Inter’s management and several players are on the side of Inter manager Luciano Spalletti following the latest twist to the tale of Mauro Icardi a report from Gazzetta dello Sport details.

Icardi made a return to training with the rest of the team at the start of last week and it looked like he was in with a shout of being called up for tonight’s match against Lazio however Spalletti announced in his press conference that the Argentine would not be in the squad due to something that happened in training.

As per various reports, Paolo Nicoletti, who has acted as a mediator between Icardi and Inter, was left upset by the decision not to call Icardi up and he spoke with Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta last night.

The Milan based newspaper stress that Inter’s management firmly support Spalletti, who has the absolute decision making power within the locker room.
