Gazzetta dello Sport have reviewed the refereeing performance of Paolo Mazzoleni in last night’s match between Inter and Lazio at San Siro which ended 1-0 to the visiting side.

With Lazio’s goal there was a hint of offside but Mazzoleni did not whistle and rightly so as VAR would confirm that goalscorer Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was not offside.

Shortly before half time, Inter took a quick free kick and scored from it but Mazzoleni pulled play back and cancelled the goal out due to the fact he was still speaking with several Lazio players. This was the right decision.
