Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport have reflected on Inter’s performance in last night’s Derby D’Italia draw with Juventus, a match that they could have won.
“In the end Inter looks a bit like when you leave a job interview and you don’t know how it went,” the report begins.
“Inter are right to be satisfied with their performance. They looked at the multi-champions in the eyes without fear. They played a great game for an hour and scored a wonderful goal through Radja Nainggolan, a goal that evoked the memories of Maicon’s volley against the Old Lady back in 2010.
“Inter wasted opportunities to kill the match off though which allowed Juventus to rise in the second half, inspired by Cristiano Ronaldo who is wanting the Serie A top scorer award.
The result, coupled with other results over the weekend, means some of the chasing pack for Champions League qualification have cut the gap with Inter, the report concludes.
“Roma are now four behind and, between today and tomorrow, Milan and Atalanta will also have the chance to shorten the gap.”
