After the final whistle of this season’s final Derby D’Italia, Inter coach stopped by Inter TV in order to give his views and opinions about what went down at San Siro.
Firstly he was asked if he was satisfied with his team’s performance.
“We have to manage to attack high and to keep the lined positioned around the halfway line and keep the play in the opponents half. The fact that we didn’t manage to do that in the second half is something we have to keep in mind for the rest of the games this season.
“It is obvious that when you fail to apply pressure the other team will recover the space and all of a sudden you’re positioned at the line of your box and you have to be prepared to suffer in some moments of the game.”
During Spalletti’s interview, Juventus manager Max Allegri could be heard getting angry in the mixed zone and Spalletti commented on this.
“If they managed to p*** off even Allegri, that’s a sign that they didn’t do well. We lost the ability to manage the ball properly at the start of the second half, so they turned the ball around and started creating problems for us. When we were able to regain possession of the ball, we had some good restarts.”
He then spoke on Radja Nainggolan and whether the Belgian had requested to be substituted.
“No, I decided to replace him. He had a good game, but used up a lot of energy. He has been injured for a long period of time now and I decided it was for the best.”
He concluded by looking ahead to next weekend’s match against Udinese.
“Every game in the league is hard. We have to remain concentrated and attentive, we have to be professional in our attitude in order to play this game like it was any other game.”
