Bergomi: “Spalletti’s Future? Inter Asked Him To Finish 3rd, Conte? If He Goes To Roma It Helps Spalletti”

Inter legend Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi has discussed the future of current Inter manager Luciano Spalletti at the club.
“Inter asked him to finish third and consolidate the Champions League position but it is how Inter get there that creates different judgements and changes the perception,” he remarked in an interview whilst he appeared as a guest in the Sky Sport studios on Sky Sport Calcio Club.

Antonio Conte has been heavily linked as a possible successor to Spalletti in the event Inter decide to part ways with the former Roma boss at the end of the season.

Conte has also been linked with taking over at Roma and Bergomi is convinced that if Conte does take charge of the Giallorossi it will help out Spalletti to stay at Inter past the end of this season.

“Conte? If he goes to Roma, that would be another reason to keep Spalletti as manager.”
